I am an out of network provider for PPO & POS insurances. Many PPO or POS insurances will cover any licensed clinician. I will also provide you with a bill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement- the rate of reimbursement will depend on your specific health plan. Please indicate your interest in utilizing insurance during our innitial contact. I ask all my clients requesting to use insurance to be aware that doing so requires a diagnosis of a mental disorder in order for reimbursement. The insurance company may also limit the amount of sessions, as well as make intimate details of your life/psychotherapy sessions available to third parties. I ask that all clients consider this before utilizing insurance.
Sometimes only so much work can be done on the individual level. If the pain occured in a relationship, then the healing must take place in a relationship. Maybe you are having conflicts in your relationship that you are unable to resolve? Or someone in the family has been diagnosed with a mental health issue and the family is being effected?
My goal when working with families and couples is to help take down walls and barriers that make it hard to resolve issues. To break unhealthy patterns of relating and understand the origins of these patterns. I hope to set the foundation for healthier communicating, increased empathy and intimacy.
Some issues I focus on in my practice are:
- Coping with severe mental illness (Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder)
- Blended Families
- Family Adjustment/Planning
- Healthy Boundaries
- Substance Abuse and Addictions
- Collaborative Parenting
I truly enjoy working with teens- this is a special developmental period that provides so much opportunity for growth and has an incredible impact on their adult futures.
Adolescence is a time of transition, transitioning from childhood to a young adult. Teens undergo rapid growth and development- hormonal, and cognitive changes occur. All these changes coupled with social pressures and emerging independence, can bring about normal and common distress, feelings of isolation, and a need to solidify an identity. Some teens even experience more severe distress and can develop mental health disorders.
I utilize evidenced-based approaches; CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, along with a true passion for working with this age group. I work with a variety of issues impacting teens.
- Impulse Control
- Low Self-Esteem
- Grief & Loss
- Suicidal Thoughts
- School Problems
- Substance Abuse
I provide a relational, person-centered appraoch to address Women’s Health issues. I utilize a variety of evidence-based therapuetic tools; CBT, DBT, Mindfullness. I believe in holistic treatment, and am happy to coordinate care with your physicians or other health care providers when appropriate. Psychoeducation on movement, nutrition, and boundary setting or assertiveness are at the core of much of my work.
